Mark Murphy has been in real estate for over 20 years. When he was 18 he was left a trust fund of $5000 from his late mother, of which when he took it to the bank a savvy banker advised him to deposit the funds, request a LOC for the same amount, and then go buy a house. Mark purchased his first townhome at an early age and was blessed to have earned $50,000 in rapid appreciation from 2002 to 2004. He used the money to travel the world and upon his return had enough to reinvest into get back into the market.
In 2013, he started a company called StrataWork.ca which assists strata corporations in managing their business affairs. In 2015, he and a group of partners started Stronghold Management Inc in Abbotsford. He was an acting director until regretfully one of the managing partners passed away and the business was closed. Mark currently continues to be active in the real estate industry having worked for PeeverConn Properties Inc(SuperSuites.ca) and is now working and licensed at Royal Lepage Brookside Realty.
At his core he is a family man, a father to 4 kids and is married to his wife Lisa. Real estate began as a hobby and although there have been successes, equally there have been hardships. In 2008, Mark and his father were a team and were invested in 4 single family homes. Regretfully his father passed away in late 2008 at the exact same time the U.S. subprime housing crisis crushed the market. For several years he struggled to hang on and through those tough times had to learn a lot about real estate and why things happen the way they do.
Today, Mark continues to invest in Real Estate and being much wiser and seasoned, decided to offer his service to others and help them achieve their financial and life goals – “Real estate investing is about your family, and I’m going to teach you how to protect that!”
Claudine was born in Brazil and immigrated to Canada with her husband and son, in 1995.
Claudine has a Bachelor Degree in Social Communications – Public Relations – from Brazil. Her passion for non-profit organizations led to many volunteer positions and to study Non-Profit Organizations Management – Marketing at BCIT.
After graduating from BCIT, she left her job of 8 years as a senior proofreader for a marketing company to be the Community Relations Manager for Burnaby Community Connections (an umbrella organization responsible for Burnaby Christmas Bureau and Burnaby Meals on Wheels, amongst other important community services). Unfortunately after 4 years on the job, Claudine was laid off as part of government cuts. Life took a complete different turn after that.
Claudine took a furniture painting course, and things really took a different direction. Trying to go more “with the flow”, she started saying “yes” to new opportunities and Restory Furnishings was born. Restory was Claudine’s “Happy Place”.
She learned so much doing her business and met so many people and LISTENED to their ideas and experiences. Invited by a friend to go see Scott McGillivray speak about real estate investment, she decided to join Keyspire, Scott’s real estate investment club. At that time, she was already an Airbnb host, with a small suite downstairs in her home.
In 2015, she bought her first investment property, a log house in Roberts Creek. Claudine successfully managed the log house as a vacation rental and purchased 3 pre-construction condos in 2018, with her JV partners in the log house. In 2019, everything came crashing down due to a bad divorce. Claudine still keeps her principal home and North Vancouver and is a dedicated landlord to her long term tenants.
Claudine now manages vacation rentals for clients in Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast. her enthusiasm for real estate, experience as a landlord and property manager, serves her well as Unlicensed Property Manager at Brookside.
Claudine is planning to become a Licensed Property Manager in 2022. Her dedication to excellent customer service combined with compassion for everyone she meets, make her a perfect addition to our team.
